The South Atlantic Marine Fisheries Counci recently lost a lawsuit filed against them for their failure to end the overfishing of red snapper. Because of this, Amendment 17A (WIDE SPREAD BOTTOM FISHING CLOSURE, no fishing/harvesting from 60FT-240FT) is back on the NMFS table for consideration, and we have until November 8th to put our comments in on how this would affect us. South Atlantic Fisheries Council Management's hands are currently tied and NOAA & NMFS have all the power.
PLEASE WE IMPLORE EACH AND EVERYONE ONE OF YOU TO SUBMIT A STATEMENT.
Tell the NMFS how this would affect your business, how it would affect pricing, please give as much detail as possible. The last time this was on the table, they received over 1,000+ negative comments, forcing them to curb the idea. Our future depends on YOU, speaking up and showing up to stop this from happening!
